Yield and component yield of onion (Allium cepa L.) effect of salicylic acid under drought stress in Indonesia

The use of salicylic acid as a resistance inducer agent in several plant species was well known. Salicylic has been believed to play an important role inducing drought resistance. and dryness onion (Allium cepa L.) never studied. present study aimed ascertain how limited water supply (SA) interact with L. ) yield component traits. A completely randomized design (CRD) two-factor treatment three replications were employed the investigation. Drought first factor (FC1(field capacity), FC2 ( at 60% field FC3 (at 20% capacity). concentration second (0 mM, 0.5 1 mM). following parameters measured: relative content (RWC), efficiency (WUE), height, number leaves, tillers, root length, chlorophyll index (CCI), proline, bulb weight (bw), strawweight (w), diameter, production (bp), harvest (hi), diameter. results showed that tillers increased (7.0 10.0) SA levels dryness. However, height (40.6 30.0cm) leaves (24.3 16.0) decreased increased. Dryness weight, strawweight, could not be alleviated by concentration. mM able overcome up capacity indicated leaf area but unable prevent on tuber Thus, given would help (water deficit) shallot plants.
